I got my period on Saturday.
The good news, since losing Glitter I have had 2, 30 day cycles! It's almost a predictable thing now. Crazy.
The bad news, I know what it feels like to be a women now.
I didn't get my first period till I was 16. The period's I got were soo random and scattered, happening every 15 days, every 60 days, every 25 days etc etc. I would never know when they were coming, I had no other symptoms but bleeding.
After having Ivy I got a few more real periods, with some symptoms, but nothing major. Same thing after Ayla was born. But these last 2 periods have been intense! WIth 2 days prior hormones surging like crazy, making me an emotional, grumpy mess! Then during the actual period, cramping, bloating, moodiness, just crapola.
Like NORMAL people. How did you all do this for soooo long? Blah, hate it.
So I struggled through the weekend being a mess, just tired and sore and a grump a lump. Sundays are normally the families messiest day, but with me being so out of it, the house is a garbage can of gross. BLAH hate starting out the day like this.
Only one thing to do, drink coffee all morning, blog, read, and ignore the massive stink that is my house.
TODAY: Well, really, there has to be some level of cleaning. I also have to get Tissue food, pop into the Dr office, and pick up a few essential things....like the next book in the series, ohh and food, yes children need food. BAH busy day!

Evening Primrose Oil, Vitamin B6, iron tablets, avoid alcohol and coffee and chocolate, and eat the best healthy food you can, and, the best thing of all: a strap on heat pad.
(from she who is on mefenamic acid and codeine, and who has run 22 miles this week, so plenty of excercise, and still in pain this month - last month was easier).
An incredibly understanding partner also helps - his last girlfriend had endometriosis.
*hugs*

Good suggestions from Jane! Sorry to hear about your period but maybe it's good to be predictable?? Thinking of you!

You know, my periods were no walk in the park before having babies but since? They have been AWFUL. Just horrendous. The only thing that helps me is being in birth control, which I chose to do BECAUSE of my pcos and my risk for endometrial and ovarian cancers if I do not. But even then? I am still amazed by the cramps. Being a girl really SUCKS some days!
Here's to another month of womanhood and hopefully a different result!!

I didn't have periods often, maybe once or twice a year, due to my Crohn's Disease flaring up and preventing me from getting enough nutrition.... and that's part of why I missed the signs of my pregnancy, incidentally, which then gave me another nine months plus four postpartum months without a period again.... but I just got mine and MAN I know how you feel, I had forgotten how much they really suck!!
