HUH?
Ohh I used to have awesome suggestive titles like this all the time! I MISS them.
Lent. Giving up something, why? Well I guess to spend those moments with the given up item on God instead.
We gave up fast food. It is just an awful thing anyway, I hope it will stick. Will this force me to spend time with God as I drive past the drive thru lane? Will I ponder Him more? Umm probably not, but it is a step in the right direction.
Soo to help keep me from the easy, convenience of fast food I purchased a menu planning app. This app has the potential for all out awesomeness, with quite an amount of work on my part, but I am still in love with it. Menu Planner App, check it out. You can import recipes into it, it easily adds items from recipes to your shopping list, keeps track of whats in your pantry, can even calculate your expected shopping bills if you take the time to use it properly.
To make life even more easy, I went here: 8 weeks of easy dinner meal plans. I imported all these recipes into the app and now have meals planned out till May 5th....oh ya that is organization. I have meals planned every day but Sunday, we will use that day for special meals out, friends, family, left overs, whatever days. I know that may seem excessive, but it brings me a sense of comfort and peace to know what we will be eating, what I will need to cook it and how much money it will save us, all on one little APP!
Money, such a source of conflict. We are living tight style these days, so the no fast food, menu plans and now the cash system should all prove to save us money. We have done the cash system once here, but we weren't desperate enough for it and would cheat. Not this time around. We have jars, labeled with each area of our budget, gas, food, clothes, entertainment etc. We get the amount in the jars for the month and THAT IS IT. Whatever is left goes to a savings jar. This not only forces us to be more conscience of our spending, but teaches our kids money is more then a piece of plastic with no consequence.
Changes are in the making here. Ones that will hopefully bring more peace and security.
First counselling appointment is Wed @ 5.
With all this going on, I think it may be a blessing in disguise that I got my period today. We want more kids, but now amongst all this, I think a spring or summer 2013 arrival would be best.
So things are changing and things are on hold and it is what it is.
I changed a few spaces here in this home too, what do you think?

Those all sound like great changes. We've gone cash this month too. Cookies sound delish. Perhaps well bake some this afternoon :)

Mmmmm......looks good. Sounds like you will be heading into march with a bit more sunshine....awsome :)
So I dont measure anything when I bake so This is all kind of approximating: Its my pancake recepie you asked for. If I had to call it something...The shove as much nutritants as humanly possible because my kids are sporatic eaters pancakes:
2 cupsish of organic whole grain flour
2 tablespoons (one if this is a new food then add more as they get used to it) of Hemp protine
1 tbsp of organic raw sugar
1 or 2 organic free range eggs (depends on how your feeling)
1/4 cup of ground flax give or take a dash or two
Pour in some baking powder (as much as you use when making cookies)
Mix dry stuff together while singing your favorite goodmorning tune
Smile
Then...oh wait dont add the egg until you put in the milk...sorry
Ok then add milk and eggs....maybe two cups? Or one and one cup of water if your short on milk....just make sure they are a nice smooth not too thick a texture.
Finally add whatever frozen or fresh fruit or nuts you want
We put bluberries and crushed walnuts or add rasberries to that sometimes leave out nuts or use other ones....all depends on what you are in the mood for that day :) another big hit is chopped apples heated with butter and cinnamon sooooo yummy
I hope you guys enjoy these dont forget the pure maple syurp its full of yummy minerals
Also let me know if you put anything new and yummy
