This post is late due to my neurologist appointment this morning!
They called Friday afternoon and scheduled me for 8:30 this morning. That is WAY better then 6 months :)
I was expecting maybe too much from this appointment. I was hoping this Dr would have a magic wand or something.
She did all the same tests my 2 family Dr's did on me and the same ones the ER Dr's did on me. She came to the same conclusions. Could be a neurological virus OR MS.
If it is a virus, then most likely it has mistaken my nerves for virus and my system is trying to attack the nerves, causing the pins and needles, doesn't much explain the muscle weakness though.
if it is MS one of the first signs is pins and needles, but a lot of the other symptoms I don't have, like vision troubles, severe dizziness aren't around. But I do have muscle weakness.
So the only way to decide is to rule out a few crazy rare things (so I had MORE blood work) and to have a MRI. The MRI will take weeks or months to book!
SOOO I have to wait it out.
The virus can take MONTHS to clear out and obvioulsy MS dosen't just clear. So I have to learn to deal with the tingles and the weakness AND both conditions are going to effect my immune system so likely I will be getting sick more often too.
Just awesome.
So I am bummed out a bit. But I have to learn to live like this, function again. No easy thing, but I have some pretty awesome kids to motivate me and my goal to wake up with positive thoughts in mind.
Wish me luck.
TODAY: Well had a pretty eventful morning already and I squeezed in grocery shopping. A snow storm is currently attacking, so resting inside for the rest of the day sounds like a good plan to me.
