This little spice ball challenges my desire for a large family. The desire always wins out, because as spicy as she is, holy moly is she cute.
We have had 2 nights in a row where Ayla won't sleep. I know she is teething, and we gave her ice cream BAD IDEA, poor tummy of hers can't handle it. But it sure can drive a mama crazy.
I let her cry for a long while. Mostly because I was up with her for so long the night before. And with both doors closed and a pillow on my head I could still hear her scream. I was getting grumpy.
I finally stormed into her room, laid her down and said "SLEEP AYLA". Which or course made her cry more.
I had to pause and collect myself. Hard to do when you have been sleeping for a few hours already.
I picked her up and reminded myself soon she would be Ivy's age and older! And she won't want cuddles, or need me in the middle of the night. So I scooped her up and brought her to bed with me. She finally calmed down and an hour later feel asleep. And then so did I.
She woke way too early to be manageable. So I put her down and she explored the quite house on her own. While the rest of the tired family slept on. She did fine, didn't even get into much trouble.
I am still exhausted, have a headache and feel like a zombie of the old newborn days, but it is worth it. To have her, to have more :)
TODAY: Groceries. I can't seem to keep a routine at all this week! But food we need, so food we will get. Playdate possibly this aft and some vacuuming is in order too.
